A Year of Firsts

School officially ended last Friday and report cards were handed out. This was the first year of primary school for S#1 and he did exceptionally well. Of course that was not a surprise for us since he had shown us at an early age that he is a smart little guy. In his last semester, he scored a perfect 10 in all his subjects and ended the year with  a 9.8 average.  Good job my son.

This was also a first for S#2.  His first year of school. We had a rough start, with him crying every morning. However, by the end of the year, he "LOVED" school. On Friday, there was a graduation ceremony where diplomas and report cards were handed out. S#2's school is preschool and kinder garden only and does not have a lot of students. However, that did not stop the Director nor the teachers from putting their hearts and emotions into the event. The Director had a difficult time holding back the tears as she gave her speech to the graduating class of 2010. You could feel how much she loved her students and her job.

Here is a photo of all the teachers and the Director of Centro Escolar Decroly.  The director is in the center with the black jacket.

Here is S#2 holding up his diploma folder.

Here are his classmates.  These are the kids in first kinder, they'll all be going on to second kinder next school cycle.

Here are his Spanish and English teachers (Miss Ivet and Miss Betty).

We are very proud of both boys and what each of them have accomplished this year.  Bravo, bravo!!
