That's what greeted us this morning. Its unusual to have silence in the mornings. The ducks would normally be quacking to let us know that they are hungry and want out of their cage. I didn't pay much attention because I was in a rush to get the boys off to school.
I came home around 10:30. Husband walks out to greet me with a funny smile. You know the kind of smile that means either 1) he's done something or 2) he wants something. Well, today that smile had a new meaning.
"The ducks are dead."
"King is missing and Super Hero has a big bite mark on his neck. Something broke into the cage."
"Es Coyotes," chimed in the gardener, "tambien el gato no se encuentra."
How do I tell the boys?
